Last night, I finished Return to Monkey Island. YouTuber Specilizer found multiplayer assets in the game that point to a large multiplayer map, which they speculate could be for a Factions battle royale mode given the size of the map. Tales from the Borderlands seemed like a bizarre, if not outright doomed, proposition from the off, attempting to marry Telltale’s rich, character-driven formula to a puerile, open-ended looter shooter best known for its oodles of procedural guns. But against all the odds, it worked sublimely, the team at Telltale using the Borderlands series’ loosely sketched canvas to deliver an experience that, for many who played it, proved to be not only the best Borderlands game, but Telltale’s finest work - a five-part adventure that, largely free from the shackles of continuity and expectation, gleefully experimented with form and structure, melding dizzying invention and anarchic, unabashed silliness to something with surprising warmth and emotion....

News of an open world Metroid game surfaced last year when Bryan Walker, senior producer on Metroid Prime 2 and 3, mentioned the idea on the Kiwi Talkz podcast, as previously reported. However, speaking to YouTube channel DidYouKnowGaming, new details have surfaced. Metroid Prime 3 was planned to involve open world bounty hunting, but Walker has now set the record straight on what exactly that would have entailed. “We were not proposing in any way, shape, or form - even in our wildest dreams - that we would have like Metroid Prime Skyrim… we were not talking about 200 hour side quests or anything like that,” he told DidYouKnowGaming....

The device - officially named the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector - slotted into your PC and provided internet access to the Nintendo DS. However, continued use now risks your computer being targeted by “unauthorised access” or “infection of the computer terminal” with a virus, Nintendo has now cautioned. In a customer support blog post, Nintendo apologised for the inconvenience (thanks, Nintendo Life). The company’s 2008 Nintendo Wi-Fi Network Adapter (only released in Japan) is also covered by today’s warning....

Specifically, Nintendo-made emulators codenamed Hiyoko (for Game Boy) and Sloop (for Game Boy Advance) have been detailed as part of a new datamine. To date, there’s been no official word on Game Boy emulation for Nintendo Switch, though Eurogamer previously reported that it was being worked on by Nintendo. Datamined information posted by Trash_Bandatcoot, suggested the emulators were developed by NERD (Nintendo Europe Research & Development) and were “both functional, albeit with a few bugs”....

Freighters were, of course, one of No Man’s Sky’s very first post-launch additions, arriving all the way back in November 2016 as part of its game-changing Foundation Update.
