Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot confirmed this point last night during the company’s latest investor earning call (thanks, Gamespot), when asked for more information on the project. It’s an important point to note for two reasons - one, because Infinity will be a different kind of project that shakes up the franchise’s formula after a trilogy of enormous-sized releases, and two, because of Ubisoft’s recently-stated push for its AAA franchises to enter the free-to-play space....

Ubisoft hasn’t shared much in the way of specifics regarding River Raids mode just yet, but says it’ll take adventurers to unexplored regions of the UK, spread across three new maps. Before embarking on raids, however, players are encouraged to construct the new Jomsviking Hall settlement building in order to recruit more Jomsvikings to bring along for support, with new loot, rewards, and challenges promised along the way. Valhalla’s latest title update, which is considered to be part of the game’s first season of post-launch content, also introduces a number of new abilities and skills....

Halo Infinite developer, 343 Industries, confirmed assassinations will not be available in the sci-fi shooter during a livestream back at the end of July. However, the recent test flight has seen interest in the notably absent franchise tradition resurface online. Assassinations - animations that are triggered when you creep up on an enemy player and melee them from behind - have long been a Halo staple. But despite the team at 343i “really lov[ing] assassinations”, they’ve been removed because of the “gameplay disadvantage” to pulling one off....

As shared on a characteristically yellow web page, the modding resources include metadata and TweakDB IDs, along with utilities such as ArchiveDump and TweakDump (basically ways to view game files). Three extra dollops of story will arrive “throughout 2022 and into 2023”, and build on the game’s existing lore with fresh characters and quests. As spotted by Kotaku, arms dealer Phil Cassidy no longer has the flag on his t-shirt. Instead it’s sporting a skull design. Cassidy is only briefly seen in the new trailer (at 0:34) and it’s unclear if other depictions of the flag have been removed, but changing the T-shirt to remove the Southern slavery symbol is one example of how Rockstar Games is updating the game. The arms dealer is seen in GTA 3 and Vice City (as well as Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories), though it’s Vice City where he features most prominently wearing the Confederate flag....

The latest expansion for the game, Endwalker was released in early access on 3rd December and officially released 7th December. Players have experienced hours long queue times to get into the game. “We apologize for the huge inconvenience caused to players by the extremely high levels of congestion in each World since Early Access and the official launch of Endwalker,” reads a new Lodestone post from Yoshida from 12th December....

It’s coming on 30th June 2022 and will feature a brand new playable character named Ms. Chalice. Well, for summer 2022, Dead Cells players should see the arrival of “the long awaited panchaku” as well as a new “flame head outfit based on our beloved animated trailers”. There will also be some rebalancing for various weapons and other items, but most endearingly you will soon be able to “pet the pets”. Following this, autumn will see a new Boss Rush area enter the game....
