Celebrating the series’ 20th anniversary, Insomniac Games senior community manager Aaron Jason Espinoza announced today on the PlayStation Blog that five more games will be added to the subscription service. Sadly that doesn’t include the duo’s latest PS5 adventure, which released in June 2021 and was considered something of a showpiece for the console. It’s the work of developer Luke Ross, who has form when it comes to VR mods. He built the eye-catching VR mod for Grand Theft Auto 5 our Ian Higton enjoyed last year. The video below from UploadVR gives us a good idea of how it works in combination with a gamepad. It’s early days, but it’s cool to see Rockstar’s epic in VR. The cutscenes work in VR, too....

Developed by Armature studios, Resident Evil 4 VR features remastered art, 3D spatial sound, a new first-person perspective, and a movement and comfort scheme that allows the game to be played in either seated, standing or room scale VR. All are valid milestones along the road of stealth gaming but, for me, whenever I think of pioneering sneak-em-ups - especially in the context of Hitman - my mind immediately turns to one that everybody else seems to have forgotten: Capcom’s 2004 PS2 curio Under the Skin. Some of you may have glanced at the screenshots on this very page and are already questioning how this primary-coloured cartoon game is in any way relevant to Hitman, and that’s a fair question....

As reported by Polygon, Riot and Bungie filed the complaint in the Central District of California court last week, estimating that GatorCheats and its owner Cameron Santos have made “tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars” selling cheats - which cost $90 USD a month, $250 for three months, or $500 for lifetime access. “The Cheating Software enables players to manipulate Valorant and Destiny 2 to their personal advantage,” explains the lawsuit, before giving examples “such as by automatically aiming weapons, revealing the locations of opponents, and allowing the player to see a vast array of information that otherwise would be obscured”....

Free to enter and “much less limited” than prior tests, Amplitude invites interested candidates to sign up at OpenDev to experience a “series of time-limited, targeted, pre-release gameplay scenarios” to “help shape the game”. It includes co-op with other to three players, all of whom will share resources, new monsters, weapons, new environment the Labour Colony, and new hero Shroom. “Our first support class character!” the studio exclaims. “She heals!...

The news broke around the same time rumours bubbled up that Certain Affinity is also reportedly working on a Monster Hunter style co-op game with Xbox. There are no precise details on what the Texan studio - which has previously contributed to prior Halo titles, as well as Call of Duty games and World of Tanks - is working on, but the fact that responsibility for the new mode has been passed onto a partner studio intimates it may be something completely new for the sci-fi shooter....

Developed by Jagex, the aging MMO first launched on 4th January 2001 - making it older than Neverwinter Nights, World of Warcraft (and indeed Wikipedia, where I’m now checking all of these dates). Jagex today said the game had been played non-stop for 7306 days (presumably with toilet breaks), welcomed 300 million player accounts, and is actually still doing very well for itself thank you very much. 2020 was a very good year for Runescape, Jagex added, in which it gained a record 1....

Last week, Tesla owner Elon Musk bought Twitter and now, as The Verge reported, the social media platform plans to charge users $20 each month for verification. This tablet doesn’t come with some low-powered chip, but a 12th gen Intel Core i9-12900H, which has a total of 14 cores (six performance cores, and eight efficiency ones) and 20 threads, making this no slouch when it comes to performance. It’s probably why ASUS decided to pack a 120Hz WUXGA display here. The set’s design was created by 24-year-old UK Sega fan Viv Grannell, who uploaded it to the Lego’s Ideas platform. The response to her idea was positive, and Lego then got in touch. Based in Los Angeles, Eyes Out is said to consist of a team of “passionate world-builders and storytellers who believe in the powerful synesthesia that emerges from music, narrative, and interactive experiences”.
