Quality Assurance testers at Raven Software formally announced their intent to unionise under the name Game Workers Alliance in January - amid then-ongoing strike action following the firing of 12 members of the developer’s QA team - but when Activision Blizzard missed a deadline to voluntarily recognise the union, the group filed a petition with independent government agency the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to initiate a union election. Activision Blizzard contested the filing, but its arguments were rejected by NLRB, whereupon the publisher was reportedly began ramping up its anti-unionisation efforts....

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is the latest and it’s a treat; featherlight and welcoming, almost completely on rails - sometimes literally - but in a way that just makes playing it a breeze. Today’s update reduces the cargo truck spawn rates for the battle royale’s solo mode to five (static) from a range of 16 to 20. The report follows Respawn creative director Mohammad Alavi’s recent announcement he’s departing the studio after 11 year to pursue his “next adventure”. Alavi leading development of a “brand new single-player adventure” at the company, first mentioned in a job listing posted last year, and news of his departure prompted some to ponder the fate of the project. The developer is hard at work on Metroid Prime 4 - a game first announced back in 2017 and then restarted by Retro Studios in 2019. Since then there’s been no news. The banner image features a figure of Samus in a shadowy blue atmosphere, presumably taken from Metroid Prime 4.
