Brotherhood takes place during the Clone Wars, and stars both Anakin Skywalker and Kenobi off on another adventure. But it’s the novel’s cameos which have sparked some extra attention - seeing as they acknowlege a couple of well-known video games (thanks, GamesRadar). For starters, Brotherhood apparently includes a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” appearance by Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order star Cal Kestis, who was but a youngling at the time of the novel’s events....

After a couple of weeks with Nintendo’s hardware refresh, I’m pleasantly surprised how much it reinvigorates the Switch experience, which in recent months has sometimes felt as dog-eared as my old console. A trio of console hackers have released the hack, which works on consoles with firmware update 9.00 and earlier, and allows for homebrew apps and unauthorised copies of games to be played. Hacker SpecterDev shared a video on Twitter with custom firmware running on a PlayStation 4 console. This exploit is particularly notable as previous attempts ran on much earlier firmware updates, meaning new games which require the latest firmware won’t be playable....

Better yet, you’re spoiled for choice, with Season four of Warzone giving you the option to play as the orginal T-800 or its succesor the T-1000 (Schwarzenegger voice lines not included). Activision being Activision, the two Terminators are not bundled together, but rather as seperate time-limited packs. While the project has been announced as a “campaign preview” on Gamefound, a new crowdfunding platform for tabletop games that says it’s “the bridge between backers and game creators”, currently there’s no further information about the project other than it’ll be for one to four players (thanks, Polygon). Players interested in knowing more are encouraged to sign up for “design updates in the lead up to launch”. Though some commenters have voiced concerns about the delivery of prior crowdfunded campaigns, Modiphius insists it will “be showing lots of previews through the updates so this was a preview a lot further in advance of usual previews” and says “it’s different to [its] Fallout miniatures game [as] this is an adventure board game”....

This time around, the focus is on a man named Quincy who accepts an invitation to a “suspiciously secluded” mansion, only to discover a time machine in its bathroom....

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, the Netflix TV show will be called Horizon 2074 and be “split between the timeline you see in the games and the timeline of where things begin to fall”. Grubb explained that the idea, as the show is pitched at the moment, is that it will not be “a reboot or remake or remaining of the game’s story line”....

That’s according to a report by Ars Technica, which expands on the recent discovery of a new hardware-related code - referring to a mysterious device known as “SteamPal” - in the latest version of Steam. Citing “multiple sources familiar with the matter”, Ars Technica claims this device (whose final name remains unconfirmed) is a new Valve-developed all-in-one portable gaming PC that features gamepad controls and a touchscreen in a similar form factor to Nintendo’s Switch, albeit without detachable controllers....
