Previously combined with the Assault class, the Medic now gains exclusive access to the rifle class of weaponry - arguably the most powerful in our early experience of Battlefield 1 - and is just as much of a threat offensively as it is providing support for your team. It’s probably the most popular class in the game, and certainly one of the most important when it comes to sustaining both defenses and pushes for the objective, so here’s our complete guide to the Medic class. As you’ve probably guessed, we’ll be looking at the Medic class in depth here, but once you’re done be sure to also check out our guides for the Assault class, Support class, Scout class and specialist Pilot, Tanker and Cavalry classes, too. Rifle Grenades on the other hand allow you to play as more of a combative member of the squad, laying down significant area-of-effect damage when holding choke-points. It’s also a playstyle which makes the most of the excellent and highly-versatile rifles the Medic class can access. Also worth noting is that the traditional Battlefield combo of the Scout/Support-Medic dream team is still very much alive. We had great success, for instance, in holding the Windmill point in a game of Rush on St Quentin’s Scar by setting up camp on the ground floor next to a squad member lucky enough to pick up the Flamethrower bonus. Continuously cycling heals and covering fire from the versatile Medic rifle meant that we could hold that final choke point against very strong opposition until the counter ran down. The same will work for friendly Scouts and Supports, too.
